good stuff: tom viega's wave art

The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears or the sea.
— Isak Dinesen

60% of the adult human body is water. In our bodies, water acts as a shock absorber, oxygen distributor, digestive factor, body temperature regulator, and assists in the manufacture of neurotransmitters.... among many other things.

When we hear moving water, or splash water on our face, we are calmed and our nervous systems are soothed. Water is, quite literally life.

This art, from Brazilian designer and plastic artist Tom Veiga, is simple, delightfully colorful, and evokes that feeling of relaxation in me. I especially love how he is able to capture the kinetic energy of waves with a few bold color strokes.
