Nika and I had the chance recently to see Eckhart Tolle speak in Miami. At one point, he was talking about the different ways we feed the ego, and one thing he said jumped out at me:

β€œThe ego can live on complaining alone.”
— Eckhart Tolle

I love thinking about complaining being the ego's way to seperate us from other people. Don't get me wrong, I love a good venting session, but I am very open to looking at complaints with a more critical eye. Usually I know the point at which releasing becomes bitching. Know what I mean? πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

ps I also loved when he was talking about name dropping being a form of ego, and he patted his phone and said, β€œOprah called me earlier… but I let it go to voicemail.” Ha! Love the levity.
